Experiments in the Park
A whole day for young scientists
Nature and the natural sciences are phenomenal! They leave us amazed and make us want to try things out and discover things. In addition to our museum studies and nature studies activities, once a year we invite preschool and primary school children to a very special day. Experiments in the Park is an annual event featuring all sorts of workstations where children can playfully explore the principles of physics, chemistry and biology.
The project Experiments in the Park was launched in 2017 by the Gerda and Klaus Tschira Foundation. Since then, it has been an integral part of the annual events programme at Wilhelm Ostwald Park. The goal of the Gerda and Klaus Tschira Foundation is to encourage young children to discover the joys of science. Let’s hope their interest lasts a lifetime!
As a result, a unique natural science project has been created in the Mulde Valley region in conjunction with various educational and cultural institutions. Children can pursue their natural thirst for research and knowledge at the versatile thematic tent stations with educational support and expert guidance. It’s a perfect playground for conducting experiments and trying things out.
Experiments in the Park is primarily aimed at preschool groups and primary school parties. Families with children and grandparents with grandchildren in this age group are also welcome to join us.
The date for our Experimentation in the Park project has been set and we are looking forward to it: Wednesday, June 1st, 2022. We recommend you enter it in your calendar now! Daycare groups and school classes can now register with us.
